Hi! I'm having a major case of the squirrels. Those dang things are *everywhere* today, making things take too long. The Friday night watch party was a success! We watched, we laughed, we fed popcorn to Revan the doggo. I'll definitely be making the 3rd Fridays at 7:30pm Watch Party time from now on. I think we're going to watch a James Bond classic next time, but I'll do a poll first so we have options. My fave movie of all time is still Legend (yes, with baby Tom Cruise and some goblins), but I won't subject you to that (yet). Have you heard of reverse coloring books? The color is already there, and you draw the outlines. I'm experimenting with making a bunch of backgrounds out of alcohol ink for a reverse coloring book! But I'm going to try to make mine completely different from the usual obvious florals I've seen a lot of. I want to make crazy psychedelic colors and shapes that take some imagination to outline. The cool thing is, after I photograph them, I get to draw on top of the backgrounds. Double-duty! Tip: When I saw another artist do this, I was excited, but also I felt like this should've been obvious. It wasn't to me, tho, so I'm passing it on. Did you know you could just leave your alcohol inks out in a palette, let them dry out, and re-wet them with 91% or higher percentage isopropyl alcohol like they never evaporated in the first place? Yep. I can't believe last time I filled a palette with several colors, I threw all that ink away. I'd love to hear what's going on in your world. Just reply to this email. I read them all!
